Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) is the 'next big thing' for Supply Chain trading partners. In 2005 many supply chain trading partner organizations will be moving from evaluating the business case for RFID to starting plans for pilot or full-scale deployment. Groups planning deployment face a wide array of choices including competing standards, emerging applications and product offerings from startups and established vendors. Making the wrong choices can increase costs, create delays and force adoption of technologies that may not remain compatible long enough to deliver adequate return on investment. More...

ATTENTION: Retailers, Distributors, Manufacturers and Others...
Management Summary:
Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) is The Next Big Thing that will impact your organization. Before it does, the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) standards used to identify and track products across the Global Supply Chain will change starting from Sunrise (1st January) 2005 - the 'Y2K of supply chain management'. The Global Supply Chain, RFID & GTIN Standards Conference II provides an 'eleventh-hour opportunity' to address the critical business issues involved - before Sunrise 2005 arrives.

This information-packed, one-day conference will provide the quality of advice needed - from a wide range of respected experts and end-users - to gain a clear understanding of how changing GTIN standards and RFID and Product Traceability technologies and mandates will affect your organization. It is important that management from all departments likely to be affected register to attend, especially Senior Executive, Supply Chain / Logistics, Warehousing, Marketing / Merchandising and Information Technology. Please bring your questions for the experts to the conference or email them to us ahead of that time.

Conference Overview:
This conference, which focuses on the new GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) standards, emerging RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technologies and mandates as well as RFID Product Traceability initiatives, updates the April 2004 event that attracted over 150 senior executives from almost 100 large and mid-size organizations.

The Challenge: This year many organizations are moving from evaluating the business case for RFID and GTIN to starting plans for full scale deployment. Groups planning deployment face a wide array of choices including competing standards, emerging applications and product offerings from startups and established vendors. Making the wrong choices can increase costs, create delays and force adoption of technologies that may not remain compatible long enough to deliver adequate return on investment.

The Solution: This conference will offer an overview of this complex landscape and describe the most important issues in RFID and GTIN supply chain deployments. Prominent standards will be described including GTIN and those emerging from the RFID-focused industry as well as the established Enterprise Software and Networking industries. The relative pros and cons of each group of standards will be weighed. It will also survey some of the key players staking a claim to this new solution space, describing the unique benefits of their products and solutions. Delegates will hear directly from end-users from a variety of sectors and a set of concrete recommendations and resources will be provided to help deploying companies move forward more efficiently.

Conference Objectives:
To understand all of the business and information systems implications of the new GTIN standard, the need to be compliant by the Sunrise (1st January) 2005 deadline and the importance of GTIN's relationship to the latest smart RFID technologies, focusing on RFID Product Traceability initiatives as well as RFID standards, mandates, security, implementation and infrastructure issues.
